King a fine Representative

http://www.wcmessenger.com I can recall a day not too long ago when the former Mayor of Weatherford, Joe Tison, declared Aug. 6, 2006, Phil King Day in Weatherford. Phil King, of course, has served as our fine state representative for the last eight plus years and on that day Joe Tison lauded Rep. King for his many qualities including his commitment to his constituents, his skill as a legislator and his recognition as a principle driven leader. Source Article »

http://www.wcmessenger.com I sometimes listen to AM 570 and am angered by hosts who call only those who agree with their point of view patriots. I am a veteran. I don't agree with 90 percent of their politics. I would like to know where they got the authority to define who is a patriot and who is not, who is a hero and who is not. Source Article »

http://www.wcmessenger.com TANKER TRUCK WRECK - A tanker truck turned over on Farm Road 407 near Justin, just outside the Wise County line Monday morning. The driver, Bridgeport resident Robert Bruce, 52, was taken to Wise Regional Health System with minor injuries. The tanker truck was carrying salt water, and it spilled onto the grass along the road, and diesel fuel from the gas tank also leaked out. Authorities on the scene said they had the leak under control. There were no other injuries. Source Article »

The board approved a new total tax rate of $1.19858 for every $100 of assessed property value. The rate is lower than the previous year's rate of $1.21. The accident, involving a Jeep and a pick-up, occurred at the intersection of Murvis and FM 51 south of Decatur. Minor injuries were reported in the incident.
